Who we are

The Coalition of First Nations for Finfish Stewardship (“FNFFS,” “we,” “us”) is a policy platform representing 17 coastal British Columbia First Nations.

What we collect

When you sign a petition or submit a letter to the editor via this site, the submission is processed by NewMode (our campaign platform). NewMode collects your name, email, postal code, and (for letter-to-editor submissions) the content of your letter. This information is transmitted directly to the campaign database and to recipients you have consented to contact (Members of Parliament, newspaper editors).

We also collect limited analytics data (page views, referrers, device category) when you grant consent. No personally identifying analytics data is collected unless you explicitly opt in via the cookie banner.

How we use information

• To deliver petition signatures and letters to the elected officials and editors named in the action.
• To send campaign updates, only if you've ticked the opt-in box on the action form (CASL-compliant).
• To understand, in aggregate, where our reach is strongest so we can improve the campaign.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement tools, managed through Google Tag Manager. These tools use cookies to measure campaign reach and conversion. Under Google's Consent Mode v2, we set all non-essential cookies to denied by default. They only activate when you click Accept on the banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies for this site and reloading.

Your rights

Under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Law 25 (where applicable to you), you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent at any time. Third parties

We rely on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing data they hold:

• NewMode: petition and letter-to-editor processing, CRM sync.
• Vercel: hosting and edge caching.
• Sanity.io: content management for the Knowledge Center.
• Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Ads): measurement and advertising. Only when you've consented.

Retention

Campaign data is retained for the life of the campaign and for a reasonable period after for reporting and record-keeping. You may request deletion at any time (see Your rights above).

Changes to this policy

We'll post updates here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
